Position# (4212) Assistant Controller

Compensation Range - Base: $80,000 - $90,000
Location: Houston, TX
Position Description: This position will manage all aspects of financial reporting processes for one of the operations divisions. Other responsibilities include managing all audits, special projects and coordinating with Treasury, Tax, and Forecasting groups when needed. Primary accountabilities for this role include: Financial Reporting: Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting processes to close general ledgers and report financial statements monthly for Contract Logistics operations with appropriate analysis Manage accounting staff (3) Plan, execute, and wrap-up the annual audits and quarterly reviews with Group auditors and coordination of internal audits, when required Manage special projects and provide detailed analysis as they arise Treasury: Provide input to cash modeling and forecasting process to optimize up-streaming of cast to the GHO cash pool structure Coordination with banks and/or Treasury to issue Letters of Credit and/or guarantees when required in the business Tax: Monthly review of tax provisions and tax account reconciliations Assistance to tax manager on preparation of annual compliance package Forecasting: Review of annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts with particular focus on the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement below EBIT Modelling of interest and tax Preparation of detailed monthly indirect costs departmental budgets
Job Requirements: 4 year accounting or finance degree required, MBA preferred Minimum 7+ years accounting experience, and 5 years supervisory experience. Direct industry experience preferred CPA strongly preferred (99%) Strong PC Skills, JD Edwards preferred Advanced MS Office, internet and other job specific software applications including Oracle preferred. Strong GAAP skills and the ability to apply these principles to prepare F/S Advanced SOX understanding preferred Ability to read and interpret industry and accounting related journals and governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently Ability to communicate effectively with professionals from operational, executive and diverse functional backgrounds Demonstrated leadership skills required Ability to travel 10% of the time within the US
